NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS CHECKLIST
There’s plenty to do so you’re prepared for your first day of class…
Admissions
- After submitting an application, all applicants must submit official high school transcript(s) showing subjects completed and grades earned, OR State General Education Diploma (GED). If you do not have a school diploma or GED, proof of 18 years of age is required.
- DEGREE applicants must request that the high school guidance counselor mail your TRANSCRIPT, including any test scores, directly to the Records and Registration office. If transferring credits from another college, OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT(s) must also be submitted.
- Applicants for the Nursing program must fill out the 365球赛平台 Application and indicate Nursing as the major. Additional requirements for the nursing program can be found at http://0dhj.lucebeijing.com/programs-and-courses/admission-to-the-traditional-nursing-program/
- Those applicants seeking Early Admission or the Honors Program are required to take either the ACT or the SAT.
- Submit your immunization Record form, or a copy of your immunization record from your doctor, to the Office of Registration and Records in person or via email at regforms@lucebeijing.com.
Advising
- Prior to scheduling New Student Orientation, submit qualifying test scores (any combination of HSPA/SAT/ACT/PSAT) to the Office of Records and Registration or to the Testing Center. Or, go to: go.lucebeijing.com/test to schedule your Accuplacer Test. (Exemptions from the placement test are available, but minimum test scores are required; details are available on the Testing Center web page at 0dhj.lucebeijing.com.
- Go to connect.lucebeijing.com to set up your Ocean Connect account and 365球赛平台 email using your seven digit student ID number.
- Visit go.lucebeijing.com/SignUp and log into your Ocean Connect account. Select and register for your Orientation.
- Attend a New Student Orientation, where you will register for classes.
- Contact an advisor should you need to make any changes to your schedule. The Advising Office is open 8:00-8:00 Monday-Thursday, and 8:00-5:00 Friday.
NJ STARS
- Complete the FAFSA and State Financial Aid paperwork.
- Submit your high school transcripts.
- Submit college placement test (Accuplacer) or SAT scores and AP scores if applicable.
- Go to connect.lucebeijing.com to set up your Ocean Connect account and 365球赛平台 email using seven digit student ID number.
- Visit go.lucebeijing.com/SignUp and log into your Ocean Connect account. Select and register for your Orientation.
Financial Aid
- Complete and submit your FAFSA online. For FAFSA filing deadlines, see the Financial Aid web page (Use Federal School Code: 002624.) To be eligible for financial aid, students must be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program.
- Speak with an 365球赛平台 Financial Aid Advisor about applying for a student loan, if applicable.
- Research scholarship opportunities, such as through the Ocean County College Foundation and private scholarships.
Athletics
- Schedule daily classes to end by the appropriate time for your sport (refer to the sheet handed out in orientation for details).
- Email your coach and express your interest in the sport (coach emails can be found on the Athletics web page: http://www.occvikings.com
- Complete the Student-Athlete Eligibility Packet found on the Athletics web page at http://www.occvikings.com (or pick up a hard copy from the Athletics department). Any questions or concerns can be answered at 732.255.0345 or email: icohen@lucebeijing.com.
Miscellaneous Tasks
- Buy your textbooks – visit http://bookstore.lucebeijing.com to find out what books you need and purchase them online.
- Go to connect.lucebeijing.com to set up your Ocean Connect account and 365球赛平台 email using your seven digit student ID number.
- Get familiar with the campus and know where your classes are located – see the Interactive Campus Map.
- Students can obtain an 365球赛平台 ID card at The Hub, Admin Building, floor #1. You will need to be enrolled in classes and bring a photo ID.
- Read your syllabi when you receive them. Know what is expected of you in each class.
- Check your 365球赛平台 email daily!
Parents
- Attend Parent Orientation, click here for more information and to register online, or call 732-255-0300.
- Sign up for the Parent Newsletter by emailing occparents@lucebeijing.com with the subject line “E-Parent Newsletter.”
- Understand FERPA – The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act – which prohibits 365球赛平台 from sharing information about a student with anyone other than the student.
